For the last two weeks I really haven't had much time to write, this week naps have been shorter, days have been busier and I have had a huge case of writers block. I had a lot of ideas of posts I have wanted to write for ages, like, my breastfeeding journey, how were coping with weaning/teething and Hendrix's birth story. Even though he's coming up to 7 months old, I will get it written eventually!
This week has been tough, one word, teething. Hendrix's poor little gums are hot and sore. No amount of calpol, abnesol or teething powder seems to be helping him cope with the pain. We've given him teething rings that we've been keeping in the fridge and that seems to ease it for a few minutes. It seems to be putting him off his food too. I wasn't sure this week if it was just spoon feeding he was starting to reject but as the week has past it seems that eating in general is causing him a lot of pain. He can't guzzle down his tomato and leek melty puffs the same way and they are his favourite. We've been putting him down in his own room at night but bringing him into our bed in the early hours after he wakes up in pain which has been often enough to make me and Josh feel like zombies.
Although we have been struggling with teething, this week hasn't been all doom and gloom. We went to our first Read and Rhyme class at our local library and he loved it. It was so cute. He was grabbing all of the rattles and shakers and was mesmerised with the lady sining. As he's getting older he's started to need more interaction and doing little things like this get us out and about. We liked it that much we are going to go back this week! And we got him weighed too. It had been a while since we last weighed him but now our little one weighs 21 pounds 7 ounces. He seems to have evened out a little and isn't putting on whopping amounts like he was before. Which is lovely for us because he gets more than one wear out of his clothes. 21 pounds of pure squishy cuteness. We've also been planning our wedding. After 2 years of being engaged we decided to get on and start planning. I feel like this needs a whole post on it's own! I've been constantly on Pinterest looking at dresses, flowers, wedding favours, signs. Everything! I'm so excited! We've booked the registrar and it's official we are getting married this year!
I have been trying to post a lot more on Instagram stories and I love it. It's such a good place to get advice from other mums and I feel like you guys get to see what my little tribe are up to in the week. It's definitely unfiltered. But that's the best sort of content!
If anyone has any teething tips, please share! Hope you guys have had a fabulous weekend.
