If you're looking for a simple yet festive nail colour this season my go to polish definitely Russian Roulette by essie. It's the perfect red. And while red is not my usual shade I was very surprised how lovely russian roulette looks on the nails.
It all started last weekend when I was rummaging through my stash for a Christmasy colour to paint my nails. I hadn't painted my nails in such a long time and I thought while my mum was entertaining Hendrix I would quickly have a go at painting my nails just for the fun of it. I've always loved the way painted nails look, so glossy and shiny but I usually get distracted when my nails are still wet. You know, because something will always need doing right after you have painted your nails. For me it's jobs like unloading the washing machine, tumble dryer or making a quick cup of tea and hey presto I am guaranteed to s m u d g e my lovely manicure. This time, my nails turned very well with little smudges or dints. After one coat the colour was opaque which is pretty impressive! And it seemed to dry pretty quickly too. If you're applying in a rush you could always leave it there but just out of habit and because I had an extra pair of hands helping me with Hendrix - thanks mum! I applied two coats. I really love the finished look, super festive and bright. Now I just need to find some extra time to paint my toes.
